The Power of Hypnosis

Hypnosis is sometimes misunderstood.  Most of us are aware of stage hypnosis, a form of entertainment.  Some of us are also aware of old-style, directive hypnosis.  Fortunately, modern permissive hypnosis does not involve sharply-dressed con men, swinging pocket watches, or clucking like a chicken.  Instead, the permissive style encourages choice, giving options instead of commands.  As a client, you are not asleep or under anyone's control except your own.  You may choose to close your eyes, and many people do feel relaxed while in hypnosis.  It is important to note, however, that everyone experiences hypnosis differently.  Hypnosis, sometimes referred to as trance, simply facilitates a change in brainwave state to theta waves.  While in theta, the brain is more open to modifying neural pathways and developing new ones.  When used in conjunction with different types of talk therapy, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, hypnosis has been found to significantly increase successful outcomes.  Using clinical hypnosis as the vehicle to deliver strategic Gordian Therapy™ is a powerful combination that can change lives.
